I've read several books about what ordinary people in Italy endured during WW2, but this is much different. It takes the reader inside the Italian government and inside the German government to find out the why and how of the maneuvering. The author has great insights into what was going on and natural instincts for being a spy. There are some formatting errors and other technical issues, and it's not some kind of page-turning spy thriller with an action-packed plot. But it's real history told by an knowledgeable first hand source.Product details
